Mitel Acquisition of Inter-tel.

Subject to ratification of shareholders it has been announced that Mitel are to acquire Inter-tel in a deal reportedly worth some $723 Million.

Regarding the proposed acquisition, John Wright, Sales director at Opus Business Systems said “
This is great news for Opus and our Inter-Tel clients. We were already aware that we had one of the best product ranges on the market to offer our clients in the form of the Inter-Tel Axxess and CS5200, CS5400, CS5600 and 7000 Voice Platforms but brand recognition outside of those in the industry, has always been lacking. Now we can look forward to supplying amongst the best equipment available backed-up with recognition of the name.

We are also very pleased to see that Mitel plan to deal only via the Dealer network rather than via Distributors. At Opus we have always firmly believed in keeping the supply chain as short as possible in the event that we need high level support for a client, we don’t want hurdles in the way.

All of this and supplying systems from what will now be one of the largest Voice suppliers in the world is all great news indeed.”
