Aastra to Acquire Ericsson’s Enterprise Communication Business.
The acquisition of Ericsson’s Communications division, subject to the usual stock market financial conditions, is yet further proof, if any was needed, that Aastra are becoming one of the major player’s in the voice arena. We see this as extremely positive news for our business and our customers, with Aastra, Mitel and Panasonic as three of our core systems, we have an extremely strong product line up.
DECT and Wi-Fi have both proved to be a success for Aastra and it seems a great fit that a company with both a range of PBX experience and investment in 2 and 3G mobile technologies, should now be acquired.
The Aastra Intelligate platform has developed over recent years to include more features on FMC (Fixed Mobile Convergence) and one could easily envisage the acquisition further advancing their strengths in an area where they are already very strong.
