On our go live date, BT had forgotten to book the job in. If it had not been for intervention from Opus, we would have been without phones all weekend. I cannot commend and thank them enough.

Time is running out for 0845 numbers according to a letter from the Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansey...

In a personal response to a letter from Mark Sanderson of the Opus Medical Team, the Right Honourable Andrew Lansley, MP and Secretary of State for Health, confirmed previous government statements that as of the 21st of December 2010, patients should not be expected to pay more than the equivalent costs of calling a normal geographic number.
NHS organisations will be expected to adhere to the amendments that have been made to the General Medical Services regulations that come into force on that date in relation to 0844 and 0845 premium rate numbers.
The Department of Health's response to the consultation from 2009 can be seen on the goverment website www.dh.gov.uk
Commenting on the letter, Mark Sanderson said, “This letter confirms what we have understood for some time at Opus. Unfortunately many practice managers wrongly believe that there is nothing they can do about contracts with existing providers, which is why they should be talking to the Opus Medical Team.”
You can download a copy of the letter at the top of this news item.
